Anubhuti had the privilege of holding an impactful workshop at P.D. Karkhanis College focused on a crucial yet often overlooked topic—Mental Health and Mental Justice. Engaging young boys and girls, we delved into the various dimensions of mental well-being and how it intertwines with different aspects of life. The session revolved around key discussions such as Mental Dignity and the responsibilities we all share in fostering it.
One of the core takeaways from the session was learning how to identify pre-mental distress in ourselves and those around us. In our fast-paced lives, it’s easy to miss the early signs of emotional struggles in the people we interact with daily. The session also shed light on the definition of emotions—understanding what they are and how to recognize the indications of emotional outbursts before they spiral out of control.
We further explored how mental health is interconnected with a wide range of factors, including disasters, gender, sexuality, relationships, and even marriage. These are complex topics, with each influencing mental health in different yet profound ways. The session highlighted how these connections can have a severe impact on one’s mental state.
Though understanding these correlations is challenging, it is crucial to acknowledge how these factors shape our mental well-being and our ability to navigate through life.
To keep the energy high and the atmosphere engaging, the session included fun games and activities. These weren’t just for entertainment but were strategically designed to create a lively and comfortable environment, making it easier for the youth to participate openly in such important conversations.
