Anubhuti started reaching out to the poorest, most vulnerable and unreached Nomadic & Denotified tribes, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities in Maharashtra as soon as the lockdown was announced. While this was incredibly challenging, what kept us going was these communities’ own fight for survival, and the donors and supporters who stepped up to stand with their sisters and brothers in a time of crisis.
We thank IISER Mohali Alumni for their fundraising efforts, ensuring our relief work continued even after lockdown – which is currently an even more difficult time since people’s meagre savings have dried up long back and they are out of jobs over 6 months now. We hugely appreciate the IISER Mohali Alumni team, who found us in their efforts to support an organization that is led by persons from the same community that are being served. We especially thank Abhilasha Joshi, Arul Ganesh, Kirandeep Kaur, Keshav Aggarwal, Vivek Sagar and everyone else who took out precious time and ran this fundraiser, and the community of donors who made it a success.
We are reaching 150 families with ration, medical support, counselling and scholarship support from the funds collected by this group.
